Actually, though decluttering is a good thing when putting your house on the market, removing all furnishings is not. Rooms actually look smaller with nothing in them and buyers often have a harder time imagining how they would use the room and what there things would look like. There can also be some subconscious drawbacks in an empty home (why did they leave? are they desperate since they've already moved, etc...)
