it doesn't have to be glamorous but a nice area? Since there is a recession hasn't the homes in Los Angeles become much cheaper now?
The homes are about 20% cheaper than two years ago, but a single family starter home in a barely decent area would be around $450,000. A nicer area would be much more. Condos can be had now for around $200,000 for a one bedroom or studio, but can go much higher depending on the area. Los Angeles is so big geographically that you would do better to narrow it down to where you work or what you want to be close to, then find a neighborhood from there.
